The heat treatment of components requires workpiece carrier systems that are able to withstand the high-temperature processes of electroplating.
ZELL has patented the GRID system for this purpose, which can be heated up to
1,200 degrees Celsius. These requirements are specified by the automotive, aviation and medical industries.
As a rule, special carriers or sheets are manufactured for the ovens in which components are galvanized or treated with high-temperature processes. This means that a recharging process is necessary for this production step, as substrates made from plastics or thin metals cannot withstand these conditions. At the same time, carriers such as GRID® are not only more durable but also significantly heavier and more expensive to manufacture. These advantages and disadvantages can only be combined in a system with a holistic approach. ZELL has therefore developed compatible carrier sizes and washing baskets so that as many processes as possible can be mapped in one carrier system.
In addition to the beams already mentioned, baskets are also used. These are particularly suitable for non-uniform and larger components.
Workpiece carriers are frequently used in the automotive industry for the heat treatment of engine components, transmission parts and suspension components.
Workpiece carriers are also essential in the aviation industry for the heat treatment of critical components such as turbine blades and landing gear parts.
We will be happy to generate 5 images of the workpiece carrier system that specifically fits your component. All we need is a CAD file of your workpiece. As a ZELL customer, you will be credited the one-time expense of 500,- USD for this with a subsequent order*.
